Each year, St. Luke’s celebrates academics and the arts with Visual Arts Week and SpringFest. On Wednesday and Thursday, St. Luke’s will be hosting visiting artists Jerry Craft and Paul Taylor. The Middle School Visiting Artist, Jerry Craft, is an award winning cartoonist, and the Upper School Visiting Artist, Paul Taylor, is an expert in early 19th century photographic processes. There will be an upcoming Lunch and Lead hosted by St. Luke’s parent, architect, and trustee, Amanda Martocchio. Ms. Martocchio’s work is driven by the belief that innovative and purposeful design brings enrichment to people’s lives. The week’s festivities end with SpringFest, which includes the Scholars Symposium on Thursday, where seniors present their individual work over the past school year. Friday is dedicated to the arts, with a composer concert, theatre previews, and an exhibition of student artwork. These events will take place after school and are open to students, families, and friends. The events on Friday evening provide the St. Luke’s community with the chance to observe, and be inspired by student artwork. As for seniors, this marks their final high school art showcase.
