How long have you been at St. Luke’s, and what first brought you here?
I’ve been at St. Luke’s since tenth grade. The main thing that drew me in was the Harkness tables.
What were your first impressions of St. Luke’s when you started?
It was very welcoming, and you could tell there were a lot of opportunities for students.
What kinds of opportunities stood out to you?
I liked that we have clubs during the day. It gives students more ways to get involved in the community.
Did you imagine yourself being this involved when you first arrived?
Not really, but I’ve joined several clubs and even started one of my own.
Who was the first person you really connected with on the Hilltop?
Ms. Berreta.
What class or subject has had the biggest impact on you, and why?
Probably biology, specifically Advanced Bio. It made me want to pursue biology in college.
Which teacher has inspired you the most, and what did you learn from them?
Doc has inspired me the most. He gave me a new perspective on things and taught me how to truly enjoy biology.
What project or paper are you especially proud of?
I’m really proud of my Global Scholars project this year.
Can you share a favorite memory from one of your activities?
Probably going out to get food with friends after a club event.
What’s something you tried for the first time at St. Luke’s that surprised you?
Starting a club. I’d never done that before, and I was surprised by how much independence and freedom I had with it.
What’s your favorite school event or tradition?
Blues Band, definitely number one!
How do you think you’ve changed since freshman year?
I think I’ve learned to challenge myself a lot more and trust that I can handle it.
What’s one challenge you faced during high school, and how did you overcome it?
Coming from public school to private school was a big adjustment. I overcame it by studying hard and connecting with new people.
What do you think your freshman-year self would be most proud of now?
I’ve realized that learning can be so much more than just getting good grades.
What’s something unique about St. Luke’s that you’ll miss the most?
The community is really special.
Who has been your biggest supporter during your time here?
Definitely my mom.
What’s a Hilltop tradition or moment you’ll never forget?
Ringing the bell after sports games!
Where are you headed after graduation, and what excites you most about what’s next?
I’m heading to college, and I’m excited to keep exploring my academic interests.
If you could give one piece of advice to underclassmen, what would it be?
Connect with your teachers. They really want to help you.
How do you hope people at St. Luke’s will remember you?
As someone who was kind and willing to take on a challenge.
