Hello again! To the disappointment of many — myself included — I am once again Doron Loewenberg, and I am once again back with an update to this very special Quarantine Bracket. We’ve made it to four people, two matchups, the best of the best. If a competent writer were creating this, the whole world would be tingling in anticipation! Alas, it’s just me, so it’s only St. Luke’s that is mildly excited. With that said, on with the tournament!

Semifinal #1: Disney+ vs Mario Sports

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh…do you hear that? It’s the sound of our corporate overlords giggling with excitement as two of the world’s most beloved mascots face off in the first semifinal. You know my feelings about Disney at this point, so for the sake of my personal safety, I will not discuss the Mouse any further. Mario Sports continued its Cinderella run in the second round of this tournament, knocking off Animal Crossing in the video game finals, further cementing Nintendo’s dominance over… Nintendo, I guess. In the battle of trillion dollar corporations, who wins? Will Mario’s glass slipper still fit, or will Disney continue its relentless march to the finish? It’s up to you!

Semifinal #2: Pleasure Reading vs Family Time

And now… everyone’s favorites… editorial interference! Yes, since somehow the miscellaneous finals were split 50/50, Elyse and I had to decide which contender should continue to the Final Four. After hours of painstaking deliberation, taking all factors into account, and lots of screaming and yelling, we decided that Family Time would advance. On the other side of the bracket, Pleasure Reading cruised through all the reading categories with little opposition. I just guess y’all really like reading. In this clash of abstract concept titans, who will be victorious? Delving deep into a book, or killing time with your relatives? Choose wisely, this match’s importance cannot be overstated.

We’re close to the end of it all my friends —  the tournament, that is. The winning contestant shall receive a grand prize which is still being decided (not that Disney needs any more of our stuff). So keep yourselves updated —  the Finals are approaching!
